Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026

KY Audits collects as little personal information as it can to run the site. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising profiles.

Who we are

KY Audits (kyaudits.com) is operated by Joshua Campbell, P.O. Box 104, Cynthiana, KY 41031. Contact: info@kyaudits.com.

What we collect, and why

What When Why
Email address Launch-list signup To tell you when the site launches. Nothing else.
Display name, email, password (stored scrambled), and confirmation that you're 18+ Creating an account To run your account, verify your email, and keep the site adults-only
Your reviews, ratings, matter type, county and year range Writing a review To publish your review after moderation
Earlier versions of your review Editing a review So moderators can see what changed
Reports you file and the rule you chose Reporting a review So a moderator can check the report
IP address and basic request data Using the site Security, spam prevention and rate limiting; KY Audits deletes it within 30 days. Our host's own server logs follow Hostinger's retention.
Contact email (optional) Reporting a records error So we can follow up; deleted 30 days after the report is closed
Consultation requests: the name, contact email, optional phone number, county, matter type and message you enter Sending a consultation request To pass your request to the attorney you chose. Shared only with that attorney and, if the attorney allows it, staff in their office who help manage requests
Billing details (attorneys and firms with a paid plan) Subscribing to a paid plan To start and manage the subscription. You enter your name, billing details and card on Stripe's own pages; KY Audits keeps only a customer ID, the plan, its status and renewal dates. We never see your card number. Kept as long as needed for tax and accounting records, generally seven years.

We don't collect your home address, payment card numbers or government ID. We collect a phone number only if you choose to add one to a consultation request.

Anonymous reviews and legal requests

If you post anonymously, the public and the attorney don't see who you are. KY Audits does know which account wrote each review, and we can be legally required to disclose it.

If we receive a subpoena or court order for a reviewer's identity, we will:

  1. Email you at your account address before we respond, unless the law prohibits it.
  2. Give you a reasonable time to get a lawyer and object.
  3. Disclose only what the law requires.

Kentucky courts require a person trying to unmask an anonymous speaker to first show real evidence that the statements are false (Doe v. Coleman, Ky. 2016). That protection isn't absolute.

Who processes data for us

Provider What it does What it sees
Hostinger Hosts the website and database (United States) All site data
Cloudflare Turnstile Checks that forms are filled out by people, not bots Your browser and IP information during the check
Cloudflare R2 Stores encrypted backups Encrypted files only
Titan (email) Sends account and moderation emails Your email address and the message

We don't use analytics trackers or advertising networks today. If ads are added later, this section will be updated before they start.

Who sees your consultation requests

When you send a consultation request, we share the details you enter with that attorney and, if the attorney allows it, staff in their office who help manage requests. We never link a request to any review you have written. We don't sell requests, and we don't charge attorneys per request.

Cookies

We use only cookies needed to run the site: keeping you logged in, protecting forms from forgery, and the bot check. No tracking or advertising cookies.

We count profile views, search appearances, and clicks on an attorney's website and phone links as daily totals, so attorneys can see how their profile is used. These counts store no IP address, account, or device information and use no extra cookies. They never affect a score or search order. Daily totals are kept for 24 months.

How long we keep data

  • Launch-list emails: until 30 days after launch, or until you remove yours using the unsubscribe link in any email from us or by emailing info@kyaudits.com.
  • Accounts and reviews: while your account is open. If you delete your account, your published reviews stay on the site as "Anonymous client" or "Anonymous opposing party" with no link to any account, within 30 days. If you'd rather your reviews be removed entirely, ask and we'll remove them.
  • Consultation requests: the name, contact details and message are deleted 180 days after the request is closed, declined or withdrawn, unless a legal hold requires us to keep them. We keep only the date and status.
  • Moderation records: kept permanently, because they show how decisions were made. They record the action and rule, not your private details.
  • Backups: encrypted copies are kept up to about 3 months, then deleted automatically.

Your choices

  • Remove your launch-list email anytime using the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or by emailing info@kyaudits.com.
  • Update your display name, email or password on your account page.
  • Edit or ask to remove your own review.
  • Request a copy or deletion of your account data by emailing info@kyaudits.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

Security

Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed), never in plain text. Admin accounts require two-factor login. Backups are encrypted. If a breach exposes your personal information, we'll notify you as Kentucky law requires (KRS 365.732).

Children

KY Audits is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. Reviews may not name or identify children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, email account holders before the change takes effect.
